Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a CS2 market index?
- One number that follows the prices of a group of CS2 items. Each index started at 1,000: at 1,100 it is 10% above its start, at 900 it is 10% below. It follows price changes, not the value of an inventory.
- How is the CS2 market doing right now?
- The SkinGrind 100 stands at 4,715.36, down 8.6% over the last 30 days. All 6 item types fell, Pistols the most (-15.5%). None of the 80 collection indices rose. Based on Steam sales up to Oct 2, 2026.
- What is the SkinGrind 100?
- An index of 100 of the most traded CS2 items on Steam: skins, stickers, cases and capsules. They are chosen by how much money each traded on Steam over the last 12 months. An item already in keeps its place while it is still among the 150 most traded, and every item counts equally.
- Where do the prices come from?
- Steam Community Market sales. An index uses each item's median price over its last 7 days. The newest five weeks can still shift while Steam's figures become final.
- How often are the indices updated?
- Every day, from the previous day's Steam sales. At the end of every month the items and their shares are set again, and each index carries on from the same level.
- Can the indices tell me where prices will go?
- No. An index shows where prices went, not where they will go. Expensive knives and gloves also trade mostly outside Steam, so many of them are missing here or priced from few sales.
